Gloria Loring, née Reynolds, was born into an artist’s family in 1933, the youngest of six children. 1946: studied at Camberwell School of Art. 1952: trained as SRN, painting staff, and patients whenever possible. 1958: married Francis Loring baritone. 1964: oil portrait of BKS Iyengar yoga teacher. 1971: pastel portrait of Margaret Morris, dancer. 1972: bronze bust of tenor Joseph Hislop – can be seen in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the Guildhall School of Music. 1981: bronze bust of Shakespearean actor Harry Andrews. 1982: bronze bust of British composer Arnold Cooke. 1988: posthumous bronze of Joseph Hislop; commissioned by his son – can be seen in the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland.
