Austrian artist Hermann Härtel was born in Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria on 7 August 1943. He gained his diploma from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he followed a master class in painting in 1972. Hermann has held – or taken part in – numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad and has been awarded several prizes and awards for his publications and book illustrations. His artworks are held in private collections, as well as in museums such as the Albertina Museum Vienna, the Museum of the 20th Century in Vienna, the Essl Collection, the Würth Collection and the Lower Austria Museum.
